innocent writers
i am a writer. an innocent one.
i write the most genuine fiction.
spinning grandiose tales
of people who existed
and of apparitions that never did,
i write make-believe stories.
and i sell them as fictions.
but there are even more innocent writers.
they rewrite histories with their fiction
and fail to see what they've done.
they overwrite a line,
killing the long-dead badshahs
and giving birth to never-lived rayas.
they rename the streets and think
they have fabricated a new setting
while their stories breathed out stench
and rich fragrance of old, well-known towns.
these writers are innocents.
they instill long buried and forgotten deities
in the most misfitting environments
to invigorate fights and to add up
to their otherwise monotonous stories.
they believe theirs is a unique story.
but, they are innocents.
they are innocents for they believe
and live in the stories they create.
they are innocents for they create stories
and go blind to its repercussions.
they are innocents for they are believers
and write only about them, believers.
they are innocents and they ignore histories.
histories are painted bloody red.
they prefer a variant, something citrusy.
