What if we are gonna die the next minute
Just imagine!
Just imagine that you're gonna die the next minute. What do you feel? Isn't that terrible?
Yes, it is downright true that our next minute here is uncertain. But we live; we strive; we smile with a hope that we will make through it. A hope that gives us belief.
But, what if? What if that very hope is shaken? What if the possibility to breathe the next minute is meagre?
No, I can't imagine.
Watching the movie, "Five Feet Apart" I was pushed into a realm that screams the cruelty of death from every possible direction.
The movie circulates around two young lives that struggles with Cystic Fibrosis, for an existence. Cystic Fibrosis is a fatal disorder. Two CF patients can never get any nearer. They might catch each others bacteria which is again fatal. They got to maintain a strict distance of 6 feet from each other. Yet, our two protagonists take up a bold one step closer to each other (Five feet apart) and fall in love.
But more than the struggles these two- Will and Stella faced, what affected me the most is the death of Stella's best friend Poe who is again a CF patient.
Poe- A boy who had a rough and hopeless times of life finally broke out from his insecurities, planning to get things straight and live his life, dies abruptly. It's awful! It's awful how a disease can put an endcard and take us away when we wanted to live so badly.
This scene evoked those very questions of death and existence. There are people who are affected with similar fatal diseases and disorders like cancer, AIDS and so on. They struggle a lot, for a normal day life.
But we stupidly complain our silly issuess and get ourselves depressed.
Remember John Green's words in 'The Fault in our stars', "Depression is not a side-effect of cancer. Depression is side-effect of dying."
We know not how we are killing ourselves. We know not how precious our lives are; how blessed we are, to not fight every bloody second with some stupid disease. Without understanding this, without considering the benediction we owe, we opt to cry on our inane issues and ruin ourselves. How pathetic we are? We are indeed calling for our own doom.
Let's decide. Let's decide that we will not anymore wail over incompetent troubles of ours. If we ever get to walk on that feeling, let us just imagine that our life is gonna end. Do we still mourn when we got just minutes to live on this world?
Stand up, guys! There are people with pain; there are people dying; there are people with no way to escape. Our daily issues are nowhere near to the struggles they face.
Let's respect those warriors and let's step up as warriors too! Because, we never know if we could do this the next minute.
Let us live, when we still can!
